Today marks the anniversary of the 1973 landmark decision of Roe v. Wade.
I'll be honest—it's strange to be reminded of a constitutional right that was taken away from us nearly two years ago. As leaders in the reproductive freedom movement, we've always known the fight is for so much more than what Roe provided us. Roe never fully encapsulated reproductive freedom for all, but it was an essential foundation in the fight.
We have to gain back that foundation in order to expand on and ensure reproductive freedom for every body. The first step towards reproductive freedom for all is restoring the federal right to abortion.
We can only restore Roe and our federal right to abortion by reelecting Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and electing a Democratic Congress.

Reproductive Freedom for All, formerly NARAL Pro-Choice America, has been around for over 50 years. In that time, we've fought for policies to ensure our right to safe and legal abortion, access to contraception, protections for abortion providers, and so much more. We've rallied around electoral candidates with records strong on reproductive freedom and fought against restrictions to reproductive health care access.
But without Roe , people have lost their federal right to abortion. States around the country are enforcing dangerous bans on abortion that put lives and futures at risk. And that's just the beginning—extremist lawmakers and judges are working to further strip any bodily autonomy we still have, attacking medication abortion and birth control and trying to criminalize abortion patients and providers.
We have to fight back. Sign our petition to commit to voting for Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and other reproductive freedom champions up and down the ballot this election year. [[link removed]]
Just last week, Donald Trump won the Iowa Caucus. Let's face it: He's going to be the Republican nominee for president. It's on all of us to ensure that we have a President and Congress that will fight for us.
