It is despicable that Trump ally, Roger Stone, was threatening me and other members of Congress with talks of assassination as early as 2020. I’m glad authorities are taking this threat seriously, but let me be clear, nothing will deter me from holding Donald Trump and his allies accountable and keeping them out of office.

Trump is relying on the authoritarian playbook by threating his enemies and motivating his base to do the same. This newest revelation about Roger Stone’s threats against my life is just the latest in already escalating violent rhetoric.

Authoritarianism is on the rise, and the MAGA GOP isn’t slowing down. Trump just swept the competition at the Iowa Republican caucus. If we let Trump get re-elected as president, our democracy and Americans’ safety would be at stake.

We already know how Trump would govern: he’s made it clear he is aiming for a dictatorship. And, take a look at how MAGA Mike Johnson is leading the House as Speaker. House Republicans are abusing their power with baseless investigations and impeachment inquiries. If Donald Trump and Republicans are re-elected there will only be more political revenge.
