A Win for Wyoming and
Our Public Lands

People across Wyoming who rely on
public lands for their livelihood have been faced with a
never-ending wave of assaults since President Biden took office
and empowered radical environmental activists to use the full
force of the federal government to target western industries.

A recent proposal to amend the
New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Listed Company Manual to adopt
listing standards for Natural Asset Companies (NACs) appeared on
its face to be another devastating blow for people in Wyoming.
The NACs proposal would have allowed corporations and even
foreign adversaries to raise capital to restrict mining, grazing,
logging, recreation and other economic development on any
affected public or private lands.

This week, I sent a letter
alongside House Western Caucus Chair Dan Newhouse (R-WA) to the
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to express our serious
concerns about the impact NACs would have on Wyoming and
throughout the west.

Within hours of our letter going
public, the NYSE wisely withdrew its proposal, sparing Wyoming
and the west from industry-killing regulations and a sea of
litigation launched by environmental activists emboldened by the
Biden administration.

People out west will always be
the best stewards of their land because our future depends on its
viability, and I am thankful our landowners, not Green New Deal
activists, will remain at the helm of preserving our western way
of life.

Happy Trails,

Senator Lummis' Week in Pictures

Keeping the lights on and the
heat running is critical during the freezing winter months. This
week, I met with Wyoming Energy Authority Executive Director Rob
Creager to discuss keeping Wyoming's grid strong and responsibly
managing our state's bountiful energy resources.

I enjoyed meeting with an old
friend this week when Wyoming State Senator Dan Dockstader came
to Washington with Jim Webb, Shawn Taylor, Jim Matheson and Sam
McDonald. I enjoyed visiting with them and discussing the need
for an all of the above energy approach.

Newcastle ranchers Tracy and
Donna Hunt stopped by my office this week during a visit to our
nation's capital. We had a great conversation about their ranch.
I hope they enjoyed their Capitol tour!

WORKING
IN WASHINGTON

Legislative Actions:

I joined U.S.
Senator Ted Budd (R-NC) in cosigning an amicus brief to the U.S.
Supreme Court in NRA v. Vullo.

The brief
urges the Supreme Court to stop the state of New York from
abusing its regulatory power to impose financial blacklists on
the National Rifle Association (NRA) and any other advocacy
organization purely based on their personal beliefs.
Radical
leftwing activists cannot be allowed to weaponize our financial
system to strangle away the Second Amendment rights of Wyoming
gun owners.

WORKING
IN WYOMING

Working for Wyoming:
While I am working
hard in Washington to find legislative solutions to stop the
invasion at our southwest border, restore our nation's energy
independence and curtail the reckless spending that has put
America $34 trillion in debt, my team and I remain focused on
serving the people of Wyoming and assisting with any issues you
are experiencing with the federal government.

Whether you need help
with your passport, have run into a roadblock dealing with a
federal agency or if you want your voice to be heard in
Washington, my team and I are traveling to every corner of
Wyoming to meet with you.

This week, my state
staff held office hours in Rock Springs and Green River and will
be holding office hours in Sheridan on January 24th, Hulett and
Sundance on January 31st and Gillette on February 1st. If you
would like to schedule a meeting while they are in your town,
please contact my office.

GRANT OPPORTUNITIES FOR WYOMING

The Wyoming Energy Authority
(WEA) is seeking project proposals for grid resiliency via funds
made available by the United States Department of Energy.

The grants will be used to
replace deteriorating infrastructure, improve planning and harden
the electric transmission system. The funding will also be used
to mitigate costs to rural customers and improve public safety
through grid improvements. The WEA received formula funding of
more than $8 million and requires a cost-match for project
funding.

WYOMING SHOUT OUT

Esther Nielson of Gillette had
perfect plans in place for a midwife to come to her house for the
birth of her second child but as often happens in Wyoming, the
weather had other plans. When her midwife was unable to travel
through the storm, local first responders jumped into action to
assist.

Campbell County Sheriff's Deputy
Jeremy Hatcher, Campbell County firefighters Rob Dickey, Matthew
Gray and Sam Newton, paramedic Lisa Gunyan and EMT Duane Barker
got to the house just outside of Gillette to help deliver the
baby.

Despite having very limited
experience assisting in births, the group relied on their
training and brought in all the medical equipment they had to
help. Luckily, the delivery was quick and after just 40 minutes a
healthy baby girl came into the world.

Recently, the Wyoming Office of
Emergency Medical Services presented the six first responders
with the STORK Award which is designed to recognize people who
helped bring a new life into the world.

Thank you to all our first
responders, and especially these six, for an unwavering
commitment to keeping us safe in Wyoming in any weather, day or
night.
