Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced today that the deadline for filing tax returns would be postponed to July 15 because of the COVID-19 outbreak. The decision comes after complaints over the administration’s previous plan to give people who owe the IRS an additional 90 days to pay, without penalties or interest, yet still require them to file returns by April 15.
The workforce is in a difficult situation as many retailers temporarily close stores and reduce hours. However, Walmart announced that it will hire 150,000 employees to work in stores, clubs, distribution and fulfillment centers, according to a press release. The roles are temporary, but the company said that many could become permanent positions.
Amazon two-day delivery cannot last with COVID-19 disruption
