John, are you ready for five fast Cory facts?

  1. Cory earned an athletic scholarship playing as a tight end on the Stanford University football team. His experience has been central to his motivation in pushing for reforms to college athletics that benefit athletes, including a college athletes' bill of rights.
  2. Cory won a Rhodes scholarship to study at Oxford University in England. Only a few dozen students win this scholarship each year — and Cory has used it to give back to his community in New Jersey over and over again.
  3. Cory went on a hunger strike as a member of the Newark Municipal Council. He was sick and tired of seeing the political establishment ignore the community they served, and he decided to do something about it.
  4. Cory’s first campaign for Newark mayor was the subject of a documentary called Street Fight. If you want to know how Cory came up in public service, this is the perfect place to start.
  5. Cory is a vegan! From factory farming and food safety to nutrition assistance, supporting family farms, and modernizing the FDA to end unnecessary animal testing, Cory lives his values of caring for people and the planet.
