2024 is the most consequential year for state politics and state legislatures in history. With so many important battles being fought at the state level – including issues like reproductive rights, voting rights, and gun laws, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee has been leading the fight to hold and flip state legislatures for Democrats across the country.

After winning over 30 special elections in 2023 and overperforming in specials by an average of six points, our top priority is to keep our momentum going in 2024. That’s why we’ve announced our first wave of initial investments in six key battleground states:

Here’s our plan to ensure victory in 2024:

Compete and win in key special elections this month in New Hampshire
Support our caucuses as legislative sessions start in January and early February
Defend our majorities in tie-breaking special elections in Pennsylvania next month and in Michigan in April
Highlight the differences between Democrats fighting for our fundamental rights and Republicans’ MAGA agenda
Recruit talented candidates to win in November and beyond
Illustrate the importance of state-level elections around August’s Democratic National Convention
Launch ads, spread our message, mobilize voters, and set the stage for a successful final sprint ahead of polls closing on November 5th
