We’ve got big plans for programming in 2020
[[link removed]]John—

Every week, more than 92,000 tons of plastic waste ends up in our oceans.

Marine wildlife like humpback whales and sea turtles are suffering. We can
reduce the flow of deadly plastics into our oceans, but we need your help to
advance and expand programs and initiatives that will keep plastics out of our
oceans.

This week, we’re raising $92,000 to fund our efforts to protect wildlife and
fight threats like ocean plastics. Will you give $30 today?

One of the largest ways we’re fighting to keep plastics out of our oceans is
through our RecycleMania program. An educational program and competition across
300 colleges in the U.S. and Canada, RecycleMania led to 5.1 million students
and staff recycling 69.8 million pounds of waste and prevent the release of
99,254 of metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent in the last year.

RecycleMania is the only competition of its kind, helping colleges and
universities to reduce waste, improve recycling, and implement strategies to
work toward zero waste on campus.

We need your help to grow and expand programs like RecycleMania that help stem
the tide of plastics into our oceans.

Will you pitch in to help fund innovative programs that will teach future
generations how to responsibly coexist with wildlife? Every dollar you donate
today will help us fund new and exciting programs that help wildlife thrive.

Help Fund New and Exciting Programs

If we cannot slow the flow of plastics into the ocean, the World Economic Forum
predicts that the weight of plastics in the ocean will be greater than fish by
2050.

That’s why the entire National Wildlife Federation and its affiliate family is
behind the fight to reduce plastics pollution. Our affiliates have unanimously
passed resolutions calling on state and local governments to encourage the
reduction of single-use plastics through new laws or other actions.

Even small actions can make a difference. We’re also lowering our own plastics
footprint by phasing out our plastic membership cards and reducing the amount of
packaging in our store items.

We’re going to need bright minds to solve big problems. Will you please chip in any amount that you can to help fund programs like this
that will help wildlife?
