Team, I know it has been a stressful week as the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread across the United States.

In Congress, we passed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act and President Trump has signed it into law. And throughout the week, I was working to get relief for small business owners in Rhode Island, telling the Federal Trade Commission to start cracking down on price gouging, and calling on the Trump administration to suspend foreclosures and evictions on federally backed mortgages.

I’m also pleased that the Centers for Disease Control awarded $4.9 million to Rhode Island today to fight COVID-19. I will keep working to get the resources we need to keep our economy, our businesses, and our families strong.

I’d like to take a moment to discuss all this and more with you. I’ll be hosting a live video meeting on Monday, March 23 where I’ll run through an update on the federal response to COVID-19 and take any questions you might have. Here are all the details:

Despite everything, I’m so encouraged by the extraordinary efforts our first responders, medical professionals, and local governments have taken to abate this pandemic. If we exercise caution and look after each other, we’ll get through this together.
