Conflict. Poverty. Hunger. Inequality. The ever-increasing impacts of the climate crisis.
Children faced crisis after crisis in 2023, John, but thanks to your unwavering support, they received lifesaving resources like food, water, medical care and mental health support when they needed them most.
These are just a few of the places where supporters like you made a world of difference last year:
When violence erupted in Sudan, families like Nagi’s* were forced to flee their homes, leaving all their belongings behind. Supporters like you helped provide essential supplies and create a child-friendly space where Nagi could learn and play.
In Bangladesh, where Rashel* and his family live in an area regularly ravaged by floods, you helped them build a climate resilient garden. This supports their income and helps provide healthy food for Rashel to grow up healthy and strong.
As the global hunger crisis grew, you helped provide therapeutic food and treatment to children suffering from malnutrition like 9-month-old triplets Bayan,* Bara’a* and Bahiya,* who are growing up surrounded by war, poverty and disaster in Syria.
Together, we reached more than 100 million children in more than 100 countries last year, John. Because of you, even after a year filled with crisis after crisis, more children are healthy, learning and protected, with hope for brighter futures ahead.
Many of the crises children faced in 2023 are ongoing: conflicts in Sudan, Gaza, Ukraine and elsewhere. Global hunger, poverty and the worsening impacts of the climate crisis. So although we know 2024 won’t be easy, we know that, because of you, children won’t be alone.
Thank you for giving them hope and for all you do to make positive, irreversible change possible for the world’s children.
