Mayorkas Is an Architect of Destruction In my 25 years of dealing with the border — as a former federal prosecutor in Texas charged with border security, and the former chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security — I have never seen the border more chaotic and out of control. Time and time again, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has intentionally failed to enforce the law, damaging public trust and placing our country in grave danger. Americans are tired of it. This week, I had the opportunity to speak on behalf of my constituents' frustation at the Committee of Homeland Security's first impeachment hearing. Americans and House Republicans agree that the Secretary's failures have injured society and warrant impeachment. The numbers speak for themselves. Since the Biden administration took office, there have been: 8 million alien encounters nation-wide 2.3 million aliens released into the U.S. with no legal status 300+ individuals on the terror watchlist apprehended trying to enter the U.S. Approximately 200,000 American deaths from fentanyl Secretary Mayorkas has emboldened a criminal enterprise, allowed the biggest human trafficking event of my lifetime to flourish, and utterly failed to uphold his Constitutional oath to secure our border and protect America. He is an architect of destruction, and it's well past time for him to be impeached. To hear my full remarks on his failed leadership, click below. Click to watch Texas A&M's New Partnership with the Space Force Texas A&M's RELLIS campus has consistently been at the forefront of technology research and development, offering fantastic opportunities for the community and our rising generation. This week, I was thrilled to see the United States Space Force selected Texas A&M to lead the Space Strategic Technology Institute for In-Space Operations, to work on robotics in space. This is extremely important, as these robotics can help repair satellites, space stations, and so much more. I'm looking forward to the development of this project, as it will benefit us both in space and economically throughout the Brazos valley. After months of effort and hard work to bring this partnership about — and during a time when the world is in a space race 2.0 — I could not be happier with the impact this will have on Texas-10. There's no better place for a project of this magnitude than Texas A&M's RELLIS campus. I talked more about this exciting partnership on KBTX below. Click to watch Continued Accountability for the Biden Administration's Deadly Afghanistan Policy The devastating impacts caused by the Biden administration's chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan continue to be felt today. Afghan women and girls are forced to live under the dark veil of Sharia law, are kept from receiving an education, and are barred from leaving their house without a male chaperone. In addition to harming their own people, the Taliban is detaining six Americans right now, more than at any point since the U.S. withdrawal. This is absolutely unacceptable. This week, the Foreign Affairs Committee further examined how — by failing to treat the Taliban as the threat they are — the Biden administration has emboldened their malign activities.
