Our Voice, Our Ballot, Our Future | 2024 AFL-CIO Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Civil and Human Rights Conference

Hi John,

We are delighted to kick off our 2024 AFL-CIO Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Civil and Human Rights Conference today in Montgomery, Alabama. However, if you aren’t there in person, don’t fear. We’re livestreaming select panels and sessions so you can tune in at home. Here’s the scheduled lineup:

  • Friday, 10:45 a.m. CT/11:45 a.m. ET: Organizing the South: Labor and Community Partnerships
  • Friday, 1:30 p.m. CT/2:30 p.m. ET: Remarks from Acting Secretary of Labor Julie Su
  • Friday, 2 p.m. CT/3 p.m. ET: Labor Leadership Conversation
  • Saturday, 9:15 a.m. CT/10:15 a.m. ET: Democracy’s Front Lines: Power in Our Nation’s State Legislatures
  • Sunday, 9 a.m. CT/10 a.m. ET: Sunday Worship Service

This is a crucial moment for the labor and civil rights movements, as working people across the country organize at historic rates for dignity, respect and justice, both on the job and in our communities.

We will hear from workers, and from civil rights and labor leaders, on how they are making the most of this moment, fighting back against attacks from politicians and judges who would rather put the interests of corporations over the needs of working people. And we will strengthen our bonds between the civil rights and labor movements, and reignite our shared commitment to democracy and to winning racial and economic justice for all.

The conference will span three days of illuminating speakers, groundbreaking panels and uplifting entertainment. We’ll be livestreaming select panels and would love to see you there.
