Dear Fourth District Constituent,

Now that Congress is in full swing for the second session of the 118th Congress, I invite you to join me for my next virtual Update from Washington on Wednesday, January 17.

The end of next week is the first deadline for one of the two short-term funding bills that are keeping the government open temporarily. Full Fiscal Year 2024 funding bills were supposed to be signed into law by Oct. 1, but Republican chaos and dysfunction has put our economy at risk--wasting many months and causing great uncertainty for Americans with shutdown threat after shutdown threat. Now they have decided to return to the topline funding agreement they negotiated with Democrats last June, and we can finally move forward and do our jobs to fund the government for the rest of the fiscal year. But time is running out.

I will update you on this as well as legislation I am introducing, discuss the positive impact of federal investments within our community, and answer your questions.
