Tarrant Appraisal District starts 2024 with three new board members

Three new members will take seats at the next Tarrant Appraisal District board meeting in January.

Names to the board of directors are Fort Worth City Council member Alan Blaylock, former appraisal district board member Gary Losada, and former Arlington ISD board member and president Gloria Pena.

Feds Sue Texas over Latest Border Security Effort

As expected, the Biden administration has filed a lawsuit seeking to stop a new border security effort in Texas, calling the law “unconstitutional.”

Passed during the fourth special session last year, Senate Bill 4 creates a new state crime for entering the country illegally, empowering law enforcement to arrest illegal aliens.

Attorney General Paxton Secures Injunction, Protecting Texas Border Barriers

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton recently announced that he has won an injunction against the Biden administration that would prevent federal agents from destroying crucial wire fence barricades along the Texas-Mexico border. 

This follows an administrative stay Paxton secured earlier this month issued by the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
