John, this is the last email I’ll send you in 2023. I’m going to ask you for one last donation to close out this year as a founding member of my campaign. But let me first explain why:

Tomorrow begins the year that California voters will decide who will represent them in the Senate for six years. I know that I am the best choice. 

I know that a lot of people have tried to write off my campaign. They claim we don't have momentum, but that couldn't be further from the truth. 

Polls show this race is tightening – a recent poll shows that I am statistically tied for second place. And I received more votes than any other candidate at the California Democratic Party Endorsement Convention. 

John, I’m ready to fight, but I can’t do it without you. If we don’t hit tonight’s goal, we could still fall short and lose our momentum going into 2024. Please, please, don’t let that happen.

I know you are ready to tune out politics and celebrate the new year, but before that happens, I hope you take a moment to think about the future you want, and who you think will do the best job to make that a reality. John, I hope that is me.

So I have to ask one last time: Can I count on $5 from you as one last donation in 2023? That way I can say you were with me every step of the way from the beginning:
