As the sun sets on 2023 and the celebration of?100 years of Texas State Parks, we look forward to the next century of possibilities at your parks. Let's start 2024 off on the right (and left) foot with a hike, stroll, dog walk, bike ride or winter plunge in your favorite state park.

Whether exercising your body, relaxing your mind or enjoying some social time with friends and family, your parks offer?outdoor fun for everyone!

You can make reservations for most Texas state parks up to 5 months in advance for overnight visits and up to 30 days in advance for day visits.

First Day Night Hike?at Lockhart?? Ever wondered who uses the park after dark? Join us for a night hike to discover the critters that come out when the sun goes down!

New Year's Resolutions First Day Hike at Lake Somerville - Nails Creek Unit??Join one of our team members for a one-hour guided mindfulness hike?as we combine the power of resolutions with the serenity of nature! (Available in English and Spanish!)

Inks First Day Events at Inks Lake???Join us for 3 different First Day Events to kick off the New Year! Choose from a midnight hike on Dec. 31, a morning hike on Jan. 1 or Art in the Park at 2 p.m. on Jan. 1. Or better yet, participate in all the events!

First Day Hike - Birding with a Guide at Lake Whitney ? Join us on the Two Bridges Trail for an easy 1 mile hike to discover birding tips and tricks while you enjoy the sites and sounds of Lake Whitney State Park.

First Day Hike at Cleburne?? Start the year off with a breath of fresh air. Come join us for a ranger-led hike to the beautiful and historic CCC Spillway!

First Day Tri-Park-A-Thon at Ray Roberts?? Hit the trails in our first Tri-Park-A-Thon! Come for just one hike at the Ray Roberts Lake State Park Unit of your choice, OR complete the Tri-Park-A-Thon by making it to each first day hike at the three main units of the park: Greenbelt Unit, Isle du Bois Unit and the Johnson Branch Unit.?

First Day Hike: Island Trail at Martin Creek Lake ? Take a guided hike with a park ranger around the Island Trail. Meet the ranger at the bridge to the island at 2 p.m.

First Day Hike at Brazos Bend???Start the New Year off on the right foot and join in the annual First Day Hike at 40 Acre Lake Trail. First Day Hike stickers will be available while supplies last.

First Day Hike -?Chinquapin Trail?at Huntsville?? Join our volunteers for a First Day Hike on the popular Chinquapin Trail. This trail is 6.8 miles and takes you for a scenic view around Lake Raven. Walk amongst the evergreens and hardwood trees and along the historic dam built by the CCC.?

First Day Dog Walk at Sheldon Lake ? Get your furry friend's New Year off to a great start by joining us for our First Day Hike! Dogs must be leashed in order to participate.?

First Day Hike - Historic Carvings Walk at Big Spring???Take in the views while taking a step back in time. Join us on a guided walk that highlights the park's unique overlooks and rock carvings.

First Day Hike - Sunset at Palo Duro Canyon?? Finish the first day of the year with a brisk, evening hike with our rangers on the CCC and Triassic trails as the sun sets over the rim of the canyon!

First Day Self-Guided Scavenger Hunt Hikes at Lake Corpus Christi ??Get your curiosity out for this first-of-the-year scavenger hunt bonanza! Start at the Old Pavilion to pick up your scavenger hunt sheet.

First Day Hike at Garner. Celebrate the new year on our first day hike to Crystal Cave. The hike is a good one for children and adults. It covers about 2 miles, one cave, an elevation change of 400 feet, plus some of the best views in the park.
