As we head into 2024, we’d like to take a moment to reflect on some of our most important accomplishments this year, and the issues we will continue working hard on next year.

[link removed] [[link removed]] Michelle Mishina Kunz / New York Times This year we made real progress on reducing homelessness across the state — planning a dozen new kauhale villages for the unhoused — and in the coming year we will keep working toward our goal of reducing homelessness by 50% by 2026.

We also took action on our housing crisis with an Emergency Proclamation that lets us speed up approvals and construction for thousands of affordable housing units for local families including teachers, nurses, and firefighters.

In the second half of this year, we supported and cared for thousands of displaced survivors of the fires on Maui — providing housing, medical care, emergency financial aid, and other needed services and programs to help over 8,000 affected people, and we will continue to offer support and assistance for as long as it takes to recover.

We also expanded access to healthcare for thousands of families across the state with the new HELP program — repaying the student loans of needed healthcare professionals in our state to ensure that rural and underserved communities can get the care they need.

Finally, this year we safely drained the fuel from the Red Hill storage tanks six months ahead of schedule, and in 2024 we will keep working to complete the plan to shut Red Hill down for good so it no longer threatens our health and safety.

If you support Josh’s efforts on these and other important issues, please donate now and help us meet our important end-of-year fundraising goal. [[link removed]]

Thank you for supporting Josh this year, and thank you for being a part of Team Green.

Have a safe and happy New Year!
