Dear Patriots,

Hope and your loved ones had a very Merry Christmas and we want to wish you a Happy New Year!

I apologize for not doing a better job of staying in touch since our campaign for U.S. Senate ended. It’s been a busy and adventurous past year between living in Costa Rica for nearly a year and then transitioning back to Georgia. Here shortly in the new year I plan to fill you in further on what we’ve been up to as well as provide some exciting updates that I think will be of interest to you as fellow Patriots.

In the meantime, I would like to call your attention to an important issue that allows you to impact the next generation without additional sacrifice. If you followed my campaign you know that I’m a passionate supporter of school choice. As such, I’m volunteering through our children's private school, Lanier Christian Academy, to help spread the word on an amazing opportunity (expires on December 31st) to simply redirect your tax dollars to support parents having choice in their children's education here in Georgia. The best part is that participating in this cause does NOT require donating, but rather simply redirecting your current tax dollars! Chelsey and I have been participating in this for years. In fact, during my time as a Georgia legislator I was proud to champion legislation that expanded this program.

The GOAL student scholarship organization link below allows you to designate your tax dollars for 2024 to be given to a private school rather than just going in the Georgia general fund. In turn, 100% of the dollars will go to help need based families enroll in private education! You will receive a state tax credit, dollar for dollar, in the amount you redirect.

Single filers can designate up to $2,500 and joint filers up to $5,000.

A business can also participate and receive a federal deduction as well. You can redirect up to 75% of your Georgia tax liability. This way you can receive a federal deduction by using a state tax credit just as if you gave to the church or a non-profit!

Here are a couple pertinent details:
1. The Deadline to sign up is December 31 at midnight.
2. You’ll be notified of your approved amount by January 10 from the Georgia Department of Revenue.
3. You have until March 11 to contribute your redirected tax dollars.

Note: Unless you have a private school you prefer, I would be grateful if you'd consider choosing Lanier Christian Academy in the drop down menu?

If you sign up and change your mind later that’s completely fine. If you sign up for a larger amount and decide to redirect a lesser amount that’s fine too. Remember, that this will only affect your 2024 taxes and not your upcoming 2023 taxes.
