Dear John,

Well, we are officially in the last stretch of 2023 – and what a year it’s been!

2023 has been a year full of challenges, surprises and the unexpected – but I’m so grateful to count you all as partners in this important work to make Minnesota a better place to live and do business. And I look forward to strengthening our partnerships in the years to come.

As we come to the end of this year, I wanted to share a few 2023 highlights with you all in my last newsletter of the year!

In 2023, I:

  • Became the first Member of Congress to formally remove a bachelor’s degree requirement for jobs in my office – and I’m continuing to push my colleagues to do the same
  • Attended 126 community events across all five counties in MN-02
  • Passed my bipartisan RECONNECTIONS Act through the House to get overdose education and prevention tools, like naloxone, into the hands of all those who need them and ensure the opioid crisis is treated like the public health crisis it is
  • Resolved 1,871 constituent cases with the federal government and returned $1,645,937 in federal benefits and refunds to hardworking Minnesotans
  • Reintroduced legislation to cap insulin copays at $35/month
  • Partnered with local law enforcement to secure more than $865,000 in federal dollars for Minnesota law enforcement
  • Continued to work across the aisle to deliver results for Minnesotans – 76% of the bills I introduced or co-sponsored have support from Democrats and Republicans
  • Led the bipartisan push to ban Members of Congress from trading stocks
  • Visited 4 post offices, raised concerns directly with Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, heard from 3,165 constituents about their mail service and introduced legislation to increase USPS transparency

It’s been a busy year -- but I look forward to continuing all that work and more in the coming year!

It’s a tremendous honor to represent you and your family in the United States Congress – and I’m grateful to work with all of you each and every day.

I hope you all a enjoy a wonderful, restful holiday season, and I look forward to continuing to update you in 2024!

All the best,
