Tim is excited to be releasing his plan for education today! As the only candidate who brought up K-12 at the debate, he’s made it clear that education is one of his top priorities.

His plan reflects his experience as a Congressman and as a father. He understands that in order for our kids to succeed, they must be equipped with the tools necessary to combat stress, trauma, anxiety, and other types of emotional struggle.

Tim is focusing on increasing investment and access to mental health services for children and implementing Social-Emotional Learning—which teaches kids, and adults, the importance of understanding emotions and the skills necessary to manage them.

Tim’s plan for education is wide-reaching and ambitious—that’s why we need your help. Will you add your name and send a message that you support our vision for education?

He understands that every child in this country deserves to receive the same high-quality education regardless of their zip code or how much money their parents have in the bank. It is unacceptable that only rich schools get the good stuff when it comes to education—afterschool programs, mental health counselors, highly-trained teachers, healthy lunches, social-emotional learning programs, pathways for family engagement, and new books, technology, and curriculums.

Tim’s plan would:
  • Put a mental health counselor in every school
  • Increase investment in social and emotional learning
  • Ensure every child in this country receives the education they need to succeed in the 21st century economy
There’s no doubt about it, Tim’s plan for education gets to the root of the issue: kids need to be socially and mentally well in order to succeed inside and outside of the classroom.
