John,

Until I ran for office, I didn’t appreciate how important end-of-quarter fundraising reports are.

Everyone sees them. As surprising as it sounds, more people will see our quarterly numbers than will see anything else our campaign does.

Our very first end-of-quarter deadline is coming up at the end of December.

This will be our campaign’s first real test and that’s why you’re getting a direct ask from me.

As you know, I don’t send many emails like this.

I usually write about work that I’m doing that I think you'll find interesting, I don’t use cheesy tactics or pretend that the sky is falling all the time, and you usually don’t hear from me more than once per week.

The end of the quarter is different. A lot of you wait to give until we’re up against that deadline, so it’s important that I let you know it’s coming up.

Our campaign is going well. We’re within reach of having a very strong first quarter and - to be blunt - whether we hit that level or not will come down to how many people read this and decide to contribute.

It would be an honor to have your support for Attorney General, and choosing to give today would be especially helpful.

Thank you for your support. It means everything.
