Actions for the week of December 18, 2023

Dear Activists,

We hope the finale to your 2023 is full of time with loved ones and advocacy for the envrionment. Here are a few easy actions you can take to support a greener Earth in 2024.

Happy Holidays! 🌍🌟🌱

Action 1

📒🗽🐦 Tweet This Holiday Wish to Governor Hochul

Retweet this festive holiday card for Governor Hochul to let her know: getting the Climate Superfund Act in her executive budget is high on our wish list for 2024! Be sure to tag @GovKathyHochul so she gets the message.

Action 2

🍃🍌🪱 Save Community Composting Now

Urge Mayor Adams not to eliminate our community composting! Sign this petition to let City Council know how much we New Yorkers value our compost and call on them to protect funding for collection programs across the five boroughs.

Action 3

🥤✋🐢 Hold Corporations Accountable for Plastic Pollution

More than 430 million metric tons of new plastic are produced globally each year. The Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act of 2023 builds upon earlier versions of the bill to meaningfully address the plastic pollution crisis. This strongest BFFPPA yet taps into proven solutions to better protect impacted communities, reform our broken recycling system, and shift the financial burden of waste management off of municipalities and taxpayers to where it belongs: the producers of plastic pollution.

Sign on and help stem the tide of plastic pollution!
