Animals depend on us to be their voice and their protectors, and we are there.

When a dog is tied to a fence and abandoned, we are there. When a homeless cat has a litter of kittens, we are there. When a sick stray faces euthanasia at the pound, we are there. And we’re there because of you.

We never know when animals will face danger. But your support means we can jump into action—like we did last week, rescuing 61 pets from Chicago Animal Care & Control, and 79 homeless dogs and cats evicted from their shelter in Dominica, a small island in the Caribbean.

Included in our Dominica transport were Edna, a dog who suffered an attack that left her with permanent spinal damage, and a six-month-old kitten called Will who suffered trauma from a human attack—beaten, and left for dead, we couldn’t allow his story to end there.

Now safe at PAWS Chicago, Will is guaranteed the life he deserves. But he still has a long way to go. The attack he suffered left him with two collapsed lungs, a hernia, and megacolon, yet he continues to be snuggly and trusting.

And through all this, PAWS continues to be there for at-risk pets here in Chicago. In fact, we just expanded our partnership with Chicago Animal Care & Control, the city pound, offering 360-degree support, including a full-time PAWS staff member on-site.
