Next Step is a collaborative pilot project to house 150 people by the end of April 2024, moving individuals from Anchorage emergency cold weather shelter into housing. Supportive services will help people stabilize and begin a new chapter in life.

National Alliance to End Homelessness (NAEH)


** New Center for Learning Course: Providing Trauma-Informed Care in Homeless Response

A new course on the Alliance’s Center for Learning goes into greater depth about what trauma-informed care involves, and how to ensure racial equity in trauma-informed care. Developed in conjunction with the National Health Care for the Homeless Council, this course is an all-new replacement of the Center for Learning’s previous trauma-informed care course.

National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIC)


** New Brief on the History, Successes, and Highlights of NLIHC’s ERASE Project!

NLIHC released a new brief, End Rental Arrears to Stop Evictions (ERASE): History, Successes, and Highlights ([link removed]) . The brief recounts the origin of NLIHC’s ERASE project – which formally concludes this year – and explains the project’s aims and structure, surveys the achievements of the ERASE team, and details the successes of ERASE cohort members. The brief also discusses how NLIHC plans to draw on lessons learned from ERASE to continue advocating for federal, state, and local policy innovations that promote housing stability and reduce homelessness.
