John—

The world is changing. And as we adjust to the new reality caused by this
global pandemic, I wanted to share with you the ways in which NARAL is
responding and assure you that, together, we will continue doing our
pivotal work in the fight for reproductive freedom — through new tools and
digital platforms, powered by the creativity and tenacity of our members.

Because we’re not slowing down. These are some of the crucial steps we’re
taking to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19, and how we’re
planning to continue to take action to protect and expand reproductive
freedom.

* We converted our staff to telework and closed our national office
because the health and well-being of our staff and volunteers is our
first priority. We will continue to follow the best guidance from
public health officials at the local and federal level to ensure their
safety.
* We are advocating for paid sick leave. COVID-19 has further
highlighted the economic consequences working people face when they
lack access to paid sick days. Recovering from illness shouldn’t mean
losing your job, which is why it’s more important than ever for
Congress to do what’s right for working families. If you haven’t
already, [ [link removed] ]please sign our petition calling on Congress to pass paid
sick leave.
* We’re going to ask you to keep volunteering. Republican efforts
yesterday to derail the coronavirus response package, including paid
sick leave, in order to push an oppressive, anti-choice agenda are
beyond the pale.^1 [ [link removed] ]Sign up to volunteer now, and we’ll connect you
with opportunities to fight for reproductive freedom from your home or
anywhere with an internet connection.

This fight is far from over. Every step of the way, this crisis has
demonstrated the cruelty and ineptitude of the Trump administration and
his Republican cronies. They will stop at nothing to undermine our
fundamental freedoms, and we need to be prepared to defend our rights. If
you’d like to power our work to urge Congress to pass paid sick leave and
advance the full range of reproductive freedoms, you can [ [link removed] ]chip in here.

The world is changing. And so is NARAL.

In the coming weeks and months, we will continue to shift our practices in
response to this crisis and update you on new ways you can get involved
while continuing to take all the necessary measures to protect yourself,
friends, family, and strangers alike.

Please stay safe, stay healthy, and stay involved.

In solidarity,
