During his campaign, Trump made a promise to never touch Medicare and Medicaid. But last week, Trump released his budget proposal: He’s ready to slash Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act by over $1 trillion, in addition to over $25 billion in cuts to Social Security over the next 10 years!

Given this week's news, Trump's budget is now more appallingly dangerous than ever. The COVID-19 pandemic illustrates exactly how detrimental it can be to have Americans without health insurance. In fact, had we not expanded Medicaid here in Virginia, 400,000 Virginians would be facing this outbreak without healthcare coverage.

This budget would be devastating for our community. Americans would lose access to health coverage that they desperately need. An entire generation of seniors would see their income destabilized.
