Hi John,
Well that was huge. Thanks to everyone for supporting our Water Quality Report launch in November. We don't take for granted how many of you there are calling out sewage pollution. If you missed it, take a look here [[link removed]].
Here's this month's update! It's a short one.
π Wishing Izzy, our former Campaigns Manager, the best of luck on her adventures.
β οΈThe latest bathing water classifications are a damning display of the state of UK waters.
βThe SAS policy team are working away on pitching the manifesto and getting support from MPs. Our Policy and Advocacy Manager talks about a possibly early general election π
π© There were A HUGE 7,694 SEWAGE POLLUTION ALERT [[link removed]]S in November.

We say a sad goodbye to our Campaigns Manager, Izzy βοΈ
You'll have seen Izzy's face often, representing SAS on the news. After a hugely impactful time at SAS, she's off to Australia to surf some epic waves. We're stoked for her, but gutted for us. Whether it's been calling out the water companies live on TV, leading our nation-wide paddle-out protest, or delivering our most hard-hitting report, the Water Quality Report, Izzy has been a huge driving force for the ocean, and we couldn't be prouder to have had her on the team. What an incredible impact you've had Izzy! We'll keep up the good fight.
Bathing Water Classifications released for all bathing waters in the UK
You know the situation is dire when even our dicey testing system canβt cover-up the miserable state of water quality in England.
With a 50% rise in the number of bathing waters failing to meet minimum standards, and a significant drop in those rated excellent, itβs clear that government and the regulator have been asleep at the wheel, all whilst water companies continue to profit from the pollution of our rivers and seas.
