As we approach the heart of Delaware’s coldest winter months, I’m reminded of the challenges my family faced as I was growing up.
Winter is a particularly difficult time for families who face housing insecurity, just like mine did. It’s not just about facing the frigid weather – it’s about confronting the difficulties that many working families endure in the face of housing instability as they try to provide a safe and secure environment for their loved ones.
As someone who has experienced the devastating consequences of fraud that bankrupted my father's business, I have an intimate understanding of the challenges that working families in our state face, especially during harsh winter months.
This winter, many Delaware families will have to choose between putting food on the table, paying rent, or going without heat or electricity.
My upbringing taught me that I wanted to spend making sure everyone in our community can experience safety and security in their lives. It’s why I’ve dedicated my career to cutting costs and delivering relief for working families across Delaware.
No one should have to struggle to pay for basic needs – especially during the cold winter months.
