**MCBA Supports Civic Participation for a Better Metroplex**

Over the past couple of years, in different parts of the city, you may
have seen people wearing bright orange shirts that display the words
"Dallas Cred."

The people wearing those bright orange shirts are part of a team that
provides alternatives to youth incarceration and services such as
violence interruption. Dallas Cred (for "credibility"), an extension of
the national nonprofit organization Youth Advocate Programs Inc., is
responsible for these workers and has achieved some solid results, but

The North Texas Municipal Water District, one of the region's largest
water providers, is the latest victim of a ransomware attack. The
attack, which officials say happened earlier this month, makes the
district the fifth local government entity in a year to find itself
undoing the damage caused by hackers.

The ransomware gang Daixin Team claimed responsibility for the attack
Monday and said the data it obtained in its attack included names, dates

**Reporting on DFW Metroplex KPIs**

Louis Darrouzet, Founder & Chief Executive Officer for the Metroplex
Civic and Business Association (MCBA) organization continues reporting
on the comparative crime performance metrics for the two largest cities
in DFW.

In November '23, Downtown Dallas' crime score was ~6x higher than
Downtown Ft. Worth. There
were 14x more car thefts, 4x more assaults, and 30x more instances of
property damage in Downton Dallas.

In November, Downtown Ft. Worth saw a slight uptick in their crime
statistics, while Downtown Dallas had a minimal drop. It is hard to
determine how much of a "drop" Dallas really had since they have
changed their reporting methods; now requiring a swath of crimes to be
reported online. This has resulted in a higher number of crimes going
unreported. The MCBA aims to educate its membership by developing simple
ways to evaluate and measure how our DFW cities are performing.
