Progress on Updating Minnesota?s State Flag
Minnesota is one step closer to creating the final design for our updated state flag. Overcrowding of art and too many similarities to other states? flags has prompted a call for change from Minnesotans to craft a new flag and seal; one that is truly representative of who we are and our great state. A nonpartisan commission went through a lengthy and thorough process to narrow it down to six flag designs.
Just yesterday a seal design was decided upon. There will still be minor tweaks to colors and placement, but I?m excited to see what the final result is in January. What is your favorite design?
Solar for Schools
I recently had a chance to check in with the Apple Valley School of Environmental Science, along with my legislative colleagues, to hear about how the Solar for Schools Program is benefitting students and the school. The energy-efficient upgrades and curriculum enhancements we invested in this year made possible by solar energy are truly inspiring, paving the way for a brighter and more sustainable future.
