We've got breaking news: a lawsuit has just been filed on behalf of North Carolina voters. The lawsuit challenges the Congressional maps that Republicans in the state legislature have racially gerrymandered.

The map that Republicans drew will rob the voters of their voice in our elections, and I’m looking forward to the courts weighing in.

Should the courts rule that these maps are an extreme gerrymander?

Gerrymandering suppresses the power of the vote, and racial gerrymandering has unfortunately been the modus operandi for Republican legislators in North Carolina. Our state deserves better.

We won NC-13 in 2022 because pro-democracy voters made their voices heard in a fair 50/50 district. I'm hopeful that the courts will see these maps for what they are: an unconstitutional, illegal gerrymander. It's time to return the power to the people of this state.
