Dear supporters,
Earlier this week, due to the coronavirus outbreak and in order to protect the safety and health of attendees, I announced that my campaign event scheduled for this Sunday would transition to a virtual event. With this serious public health threat continuing to grow, I have decided it would be best to postpone Sunday's virtual event. My main focus at this challenging moment is to do all I can to ensure that Rhode Island has the resources and information it needs from the federal government to protect and care for all Rhode Islanders.
In addition to the $8.3 billion emergency appropriation Congress passed last week to provide for a comprehensive response to the coronavirus, this week I've been working with my colleagues in the House to develop and pass further legislation strengthening the federal government's efforts to fight the virus and mitigate its impact. Please be assured I will use my position as a member of the Democratic House leadership to make certain we are taking every possible action to protect the health, financial security, and safety of all Rhode Islanders.
I am grateful for your continued support, and I look forward to hosting you soon and working together in the upcoming election.
Warm regards,
-- David
