On November 8-9, 2023, over 40 Music Friendly Texas Certified Communities joined the TMO in Houston, Texas, for our 5th Annual Texas Sounds & Cities Conference.?

The?TMO?s Music Friendly Texas Certified Community program [ [link removed] ]?continues to grow each year, and with that expansion, our Texas Sounds & Cities Conference?s role in bringing our communities together becomes all the more important. Having time to network and learn from each other is a key component to the program, and this year?s conference truly showed that when we all work together, great things happen.?

Texas Music Incubator Rebate Program (TMIR) Round One of Applications Closed 11.30.23 [ [link removed] ]

The first round of applications for the?Texas Music Incubator Rebate (TMIR)?Program [ [link removed] ]?closed on November 30, 2023. We are currently evaluating all received applications, and working through the qualification process, and will be reaching out to qualified applicants after 2024.?

The TMO will announce any future rounds of applications depending on available funding.

The ?Texas Music Incubator Rebate (TMIR)?Program [ [link removed] ]?program was?signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott in 2021?and received an appropriation after the 88th Legislative session in 2023*". "**"The first round of applications closed November 30, 2023."*

With $20.2 million in funding approved for the biennium, the TMIR Program will provide qualifying Texas music venues and festival promoters a full or partial rebate of certain taxes to help support the live music industry in communities across the state.?

TMO Announces 2024 Texas Grammy Nominees [ [link removed] ]

This year, over 20 Texas born-or-based acts received a total of over 35 Grammy nominations.

"The Recording Academy will present the 66th GRAMMY Awards on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 7PM-10:30PM CT, live on the CBS Television Network and will stream live from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles."

TMO Certifies Multiple Music Friendly Texas Communities [ [link removed] ]

On November 2, 2023, the Texas Music Office celebrated College Station becoming the 51st city to receive the?Music Friendly Texas [ [link removed] ] designation from the TMO. The designation was presented by TMO Director Brendon Anthony and TMO Community Relations & Outreach Specialist Chip Adams.

On November 13, 2023, the Texas Music Office presented the City of Amarillo a certificate for achieving the status of becoming the 52nd city in Texas to receive the?Music Friendly Texas [ [link removed] ] designation from the TMO. TMO Community Relations & Outreach Specialist Chip Adams presented the certificate and joined in the celebration with Visit Amarillo and the City of Amarillo.

On Thursday, November 16, 2023, South Padre Island, Texas, became the 53rd Music Friendly Texas [ [link removed] ] Community. The Certification Ceremony was co-hosted by TMO, Visit South Padre Island, and the City of South Padre Island.
