Candidate filing for the 2024 elections begins today and runs through December 15! We're excited to see progressive women filing to run at all levels of office in the coming days.

There is a path to breaking the Republican supermajority in the NC General Assembly by electing pro-choice, progressive women. Please stay tuned as our next round of Featured Candidates is coming soon. 

We've been hard at work this year identifying competitive districts and recruiting strong candidates to run in them. We hosted our annual Elect Women of Color training in June and held two sessions of our Future Candidate Training in July and October to train and identify women leaders. Plus, we held our biennial Campaign Camp last month to train campaign staffers who will help these candidates run strong campaigns.

Congratulations to our former Featured Candidate Jessica Holmes for her appointment to be the next NC auditor! We know she will do a fantastic job serving the people of NC in this important role.

Jessica will be the first Black woman to serve on NC's Council of State. She was formerly the Chair of the Wake County Board of Commissioners and ran statewide for Commissioner of Labor in 2020 as a Lillian's List Featured Candidate. She has also been a Board member and Director of Local Engagement for Lillian's List. She currently serves as Deputy Commissioner on the North Carolina Industrial Commission.
