Readout: Minister of Foreign Affairs speaks with Italy’s Minister of Foreign Affairs

The Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Luigi Di Maio, Italy’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held a phone call today.

The two ministers discussed the COVID-19 outbreak around the world and the situation in their respective countries.

Minister Champagne expressed Canada’s solidarity with Italy as it faces a rapidly evolving situation.

The two ministers agreed to be in regular communication as the situation develops.
