The backstory on session beers

A session beer is defined by its low alcohol strength below 4 – 4.5 percent ABV. These types have beers have existed throughout history. However, the term has gained popularity recently in the United States with the craft beer industry. In 2012, Pennsylvania beer enthusiast Lew Bryson launched Session Beer Day (April 7th) to feature and encourage lower alcohol beer options. Though Session Beer Day has faded in popularity, more session beers on shelves and taps continue.

Pepsi set to buy Rockstar Energy Beverages for a $3.85 billion deal

This week Pepsi entered into an agreement with Rockstar Energy Beverages and in the next couple of months, it is expected to close a $3.85 billion deal. Pepsi has had a distribution agreement with Rockstar since 2009 but it will be adding it to their existing energy drink portfolio which includes Mountain Dew's Kickstart and GameFuel.

Feds are proposing to extend the 2020 tax deadline

The Internal Revenue Service may delay the April 15 tax filing deadline as part of the U.S. government's efforts to ease the economic impact COVID-19. The agency has pushed back the tax filing deadline before, including two years ago when the payment website suffered multiple outages hours before the deadline. So far, 2020 tax returns have been on schedule but there could be disruptions over the next month.
