Trump made it 100% clear last night that he is not capable of managing our country’s response to coronavirus. Help fund our fight to get Trump out of office.
Twenty-four hours after telling a reporter asking about coronavirus, “Just stay calm, it will go away,” Trump proposed a travel ban from some European countries and a cut to a tax that is designed to fund Social Security benefits. It was one of the most ignorant, embarrassing Oval Office speeches ever made by an American president.
Trump’s proposal to ban travel to some countries because of the virus is ridiculous, bigoted, and won’t work. Coronavirus cases exist in virtually every corner of the U.S.. Just today, the local government of Washington, D.C., declared a state of emergency due to local cases.
This a global problem that will require global solutions, not more ignorant, nationalist fear-mongering. Help us stop Trump’s agenda by donating today.
Trump is also trying to use the crisis to cut Social Security and other safety nets. Six days ago, he told a questioner “Oh, we’ll be cutting,” when asked about Social Security and Medicare. Last night, he asked Congress to cut payroll taxes--which are designed to fund Social Security.
It’s idiotic to try to cut Social Security when people who rely on it are in the highest-risk population for serious illness from coronavirus. Stand up to Trump with your donation.
