MEMPHIS COUPLE TURNS A QUIRKY BUILDING INTO A HOME AND B&B
With the restoration of the James Lee House, José and Jennifer Velázquez
realized their longtime dream in the shape of an Italianate home built in 1872.
After completely restoring the Memphis property, the couple opened the James Lee
House to guests on April 17, 2014.

PAUL RUDOLPH’S COCOON HOUSE EMERGES, RESTORED
With its Modernist floor plan and experimental, climate-appropriate cypress
jalousie walls, this 1950 guest house in Sarasota, Florida, opened to the public

5 PIECES OF POTTERY THAT STAND OUT AT OATLANDS IN LEESBURG, VIRGINIA
Every couple months, a visitor will recognize the provenance of the glossy black
pottery on display in the library at Oatlands. The five boldly curved works are
by internationally known artist Maria Martinez, who lived in San Ildefonso
Pueblo, New Mexico, until her death in 1980.
