I hope you’ll hear me out for a few minutes — I promise this story ties back to the work we’re doing together.

Growing up, I witnessed the value of hard work firsthand. My parents, who both worked tirelessly to support our family, ingrained this value in me from a young age. From my dad's career as a union lineman to my mom's work as a seamstress and automobile tire factory worker, I learned that perseverance and going all in for what you believe in can make a lasting difference.

This mindset fueled my pursuit of a mechanical engineering degree in college, where I had the opportunity to help build — and race! — a carbon fiber solar-powered car called the "Sun Tiger." That was only the start of my passion for clean energy.

From there, I held a number of jobs, from working at the Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque to a nonprofit organization focused on helping children engage with the great outdoors, and helping raise Albuquerque’s minimum wage and crafting green building codes on the City Council.

My values and experiences ultimately led me to Congress, where it’s the honor of my life to serve New Mexico in the U.S. Senate to make a difference for the Land of Enchantment on a national scale.

But our collective work is far from over, and I am personally asking for your support so I can keep making a positive impact in the Senate and defend our Democratic Majority from Republicans.
