Hey John —

Today, I want to talk about the coronavirus. With newly confirmed cases occurring throughout the nation, it’s important that we all have the most up to date information.

Our state and our local governments are working together with the NIH, the CDC, and hospitals across the country to contain the virus and, if needed, to make sure that people have access to diagnostic tests and treatment. But it’s extremely important that we continue to listen to the public health community and follow proper hygiene protocols and procedures.

We all have a responsibility to help contain the virus. That means that there are simple steps each of us should be doing, including:

- Washing your hands regularly (especially before eating, or after coughing or sneezing),
- Staying home if you are sick, and
- Disinfecting frequently touched objects with a household cleaning spray.

If you experience symptoms of the coronavirus, contact your primary care physician and your local County Department of Health immediately. Additionally, you can visit the dedicated Coronavirus website at the Centers for Disease Control for the latest updates at [link removed].

I want to reiterate that while we all feel anxious and overwhelmed by both the virus and the news surrounding it, the threat to the general public remains low -- just as long as we all stay vigilant, and we do our part to follow safe virus prevention practices.

We’ll do everything we can to keep you up to date on the latest developments.

Thanks,

Bill Weld
