John,

As Oklahomans, we are still grappling with our violent history. From the Osage Murders and the Tulsa Race Massacre to the Oklahoma City Bombing. Recently, our state has moved away from violence and takes pride in our values of civility and respect. Unfortunately, Markwayne Mullin's recent behavior during a Senate committee hearing with the president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters falls far short of the Oklahoma standard.

During the hearing, Senator Mullin engaged in an unprofessional and disrespectful exchange with the union president, Sean O'Brien. This outburst was not only inappropriate but also deeply troubling when he decided to double down on his poor judgment while making his rounds on conservative news networks.

Oklahomans are not more violent than anyone else in the United States. We cannot allow Markwayne's actions to go unchecked. We must stand up for the values that define Oklahoma and demand that our elected officials represent us with the dignity and respect we deserve. Will you stand with us today in our FIGHT for civility and the dignity of our state?

Together, we can send a clear message to Markwayne Mullin and all elected officials that such behavior will not be tolerated. We can demonstrate that Oklahoma is a state that values civility, respect, and the democratic process. Your contribution to the Oklahoma Democratic Party will help us elect candidates who share our values and will fight for the issues that matter to us, such as affordable healthcare, a strong economy, and a vibrant democracy.

Peacefully yours,

Alicia Andrews
Chairwoman,
Oklahoma Democratic Party
