John, we just saw yet another last-minute scramble to avert a government shutdown. This is no way to operate the federal government.

GOP Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and the far-right House Freedom Caucus have shown their intent to undo all of our progress, even if it means putting our government or our economy in jeopardy.

Progress isn’t easy, and it’s even harder when one chamber of Congress is more concerned with playing to the far-right fringe than working together to solve problems.

That’s why I intend to spend the next twelve months doing everything I can to support Democrats running from the top of the ticket to all the way down the ballot.
