Dear Friend,
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, we wanted to provide a brief update on our work to support Minnesota’s Sixth District.
We are pleased to announce that the House of Representatives passed federal infrastructure funding for three water treatment facilities that will provide clean water in the district. In total, more than $6 million dollars was included for water projects in Otsego, New Germany and St. Michael. As we work to rein in spending, we must ensure the House of Representatives is in charge of the purse strings – not the Senate or White House. Rather than having these funds go to projects in New York or California, we’re working to bring targeted hard infrastructure investments back home. This is a great step and we look forward to working to ensure these projects cross the finish line.
Earlier this week, we met with a group of students from Foley High School who were visiting our nation’s capital. We had a great discussion about the importance of civic engagement and the role of government in our nation. We were impressed by the students’ knowledge and enthusiasm and look forward to seeing the great things they accomplish in the future.
Our office works around the clock to assist those who have served our country and their families. Recently, our team worked with Oak Grove residents Steven and Cheryl to help replace a few war medals earned by Steven’s father during the Korean War. If you or someone you know is struggling to get help from the VA, Department of Defense, or another federal agency, please do not hesitate to reach out to our talented casework team at 763-241-6848 or 952-262-2999.
With Thanksgiving around the corner, I hope that all of you are planning to enjoy the holiday with friends and family and urge you to take this opportunity to reflect on the many blessings we have as Americans.
Sincerely,
|
