** UPDATES ON COVID-19
------------------------------------------------------------

**
------------------------------------------------------------
This morning, the General Assembly received updates on COVID-19 from CDPHS and CPS. State organizations have been in major discussions as to how to increase awareness and get ready for emergency response should COVID-19 further spread in the state and across the nation. State health agencies are advising agencies on the community level to begin preparation and take necessary precautions to limit the spread of COVID-19.

In case of a State of Emergency, the Governor will make decisions regarding closures of events or locations as well as the spending of disaster emergency funds for public health and safety.

In the meantime, the best way to protect yourself from COVID-19 is to:
-Limit travel
-Wash your hands frequently
-Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
-Do not go to work or school if you are feeling unwell
-Sanitize frequently touched objects and surfaces

If you think you could have COVID-19, there is a test. Here is Governor Polis' statement on COVID-19 tests: "Our administration is taking swift action to ensure Coloradans can get tested for COVID-19 without financial fear. We are all in this together, and we must continue working together to protect our health and safety. This important step will help ensure cost berries do not stand in the way of getting tested. The earlier that we can diagnose and isolate those testing postive for COVID-19, the better we can prevent it from spreading."

Coloradans enrolled in self-funded employer-based health insurance plans, which are not regulated by the DOI, but instead are regulated at the federal level, should contact their employer regarding coverage. If your insurance card has "CO-DOI" in the bottom corner, your plan is regulated by the Division.
