When a majority in Congress voted to censure me last week, they tried to
silence the majority of Americans who are demanding a ceasefire.

In a democracy, Congressmembers are supposed to represent the people who
vote for them. But right now, only a few of us are brave enough to keep
calling for a ceasefire and denouncing the Israeli government’s war
crimes. 

These leaders for peace include your very own Rep. Summer Lee who
continues to act with moral courage despite political risks.

As we met with veterans who were also calling for a ceasefire, Summer Lee
called out how the vast majority of the Palestinians killed by the Israeli
military in the past month were civilians.

Even though anti-Palestinian AIPAC spent millions of dollars trying to
defeat Summer in her first election to Congress last year, she will not be
intimidated and keeps speaking up for Palestinians’ humanity.
