SILENT AUCTION DONATION FORM County Board Adopts Langston Boulevard Area Plan On Saturday, November 11 the Arlington County Board voted to adopt the Langston Boulevard Area Plan. This was the culmination of a decade-long process by community advocates and County Staff to develop a vision for the corridor. The Chamber requested that the General Land Use Plan (GLUP) designations be incorporated for properties within the Plan Area as soon as possible. We asked that the Board adopt the GLUP designations within the first half of 2024 The Chamber also requested that the Board insert two additional Goals into the Area Plan - the retention or expansion of retail use, and the provision of parking resources. Including these as Plan Goals would allow for both policies to be considered as community benefits, comparable to those of the existing Plan Goals. While the Chamber's requests were not included in the adopted plan, advocacy on Langston Boulevard will continue in the Plan implementation phase. The Chamber summarized these requests in a Letter to the Board and in testimony that Government Affairs Manager John Musso gave to the Board.
