Team, earlier this week, the GOP presidential candidates took the debate stage right here in Miami. Now, with even more national attention on our state, there’s a huge opportunity for my opponent Rick Scott to gain momentum. But it's also a huge opportunity for us — all eyes are on Florida and on our race.

That's why I've set a goal to raise $100,000 before midnight to show the GOP we’re not going down without a fight — and I'm counting on you to split a donation between my campaign and Tim Kaine to help us hit it:

But first, let me explain exactly who we're up against here:

• Rick Scott wrote the plan to END Social Security and Medicare — a plan so extreme even Mitch McConnell condemned it!
  
  
• He supports Florida's extreme abortion ban — and he's scheming to pass a nationwide ban on abortions.
  
  
• He's a fraud who made his fortune as the CEO of a company that admitted to the largest Medicare fraud in U.S. history.
  
  
• And he just became one of the first senators to ENDORSE Donald Trump — apparently, not even Florida’s own Ron DeSantis is extreme enough for him.

Rick Scott is wrong for Florida, plain and simple. That's why I'm running to defeat him. And the good news is that experts at CNN, Roll Call, and FiveThirtyEight agree that our campaign has a real shot at beating him. 

But that can only happen if we have the resources to compete with his massive fortune on the airwaves and on the ground. And that means stepping up during big moments like this one. So I'm personally asking: Will you chip in $20 or more — split between my campaign and Tim Kaine’s —  to help us hit this critical goal and flip Florida blue?
