Friend,

Today is International Women’s Day, the day we celebrate the incredible social, economic, and cultural achievements of women.

Despite our progress, women in America do not enjoy the same rights and privileges that men possess. We have an unequal civic infrastructure that uplifts some at the expense of others.

Today, women in America earn $0.79 cents for every dollar earned by men. Women of color earn even less. Our reproductive rights are threatened on a daily basis. We are denied opportunities granted to men and told how to live our lives and what to do with our bodies.

The system is rigged against us. But there is something we can do to change it. If we win Georgia and a Democratic Senate majority, we can ratify the Equal Rights Amendment to make gender discrimination a relic of the past.

It is time we stand up and demand equality. Add your name if you agree it is time for rights to be equally guaranteed, regardless of sex.

With the newly-Democratic Virginia Legislature’s ratification of the ERA, the U.S. House voted to extend the deadline to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment.

Mitch McConnell refuses to hold a vote in the Senate. That is unacceptable. We are represented by politicians who have failed in their duty to uphold the Constitution. David Perdue simply isn’t there to represent us.

Today, on International Women’s Day, I am calling on the Senate to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. I am calling on our leaders to uphold their oaths of office and fight for equal rights. And I am calling on you to raise your voice to demand equality.

We need to speak as one in order to defeat David Perdue, and we need to speak now. Add your name if you agree it is time for us to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment.

Together, we can correct this injustice.

Yours truly,
Teresa
