John, happy Veterans Day!

If you’re in uniform now or have had the honor to serve, I’d like to extend my gratitude to you for serving our country in this way. Thank you.

As the daughter and granddaughter of Navy veterans, and a veteran of the Air Force myself, I take my responsibility to deliver and advocate for our men and women in uniform and our veteran community very seriously. That’s why, every year on this day, I take some time to reflect on how I’ve fulfilled this responsibility – and what more I can do in the year ahead to continue to honor you and serve you.

Last year, when I learned that the Coatesville VA Medical Center was facing closure, I knew that it was my duty to fight for this critical source of care for veterans across the region. In the following months, I published an op-ed making the case for keeping Coatesville open, held roundtables to amplify the voices of local veterans, and hosted VA Secretary Denis McDonough at the Center to meet with VA employees, veterans, and local hospital administrators.

With the support of this incredible community, we won our fight to keep the Coatesville VAMC’s doors open – and now, our veterans can continue to access the high-quality care they deserve.

In the years to come, I plan to continue advocating for our veterans and service members through my work in the For Country Caucus, a bipartisan caucus of military veterans in Congress which I co-founded in 2019. And, as always, I welcome your honest feedback as to how I can best deliver for those who serve our country.

I’m so grateful that you’ve elected me to serve you.

I wish the best to our service members, veterans, and their families – today and every day.

There’s work to be done,

Chrissy
