Our veterans deserve our utmost respect and admiration–on Veterans Day, and every day.

I want to say thank you to all the veterans and active duty military members. Your contributions and sacrifices keep America strong and safe.

My father proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was only 18 when he voluntarily enlisted and when he came home he was never that same young man. He rarely spoke about his service–I assumed the pain was a feeling he did not wish to relive. I strongly believe in standing up for our veterans who have put their personal safety and futures at risk to protect all of us.

Congress can do more for our veterans. That’s why I support investing in veterans and their families through the VA, higher and technical education, counseling and support services, affordable housing, and more.

So today, and every day, please keep our veterans in your thoughts, and if you have the opportunity, thank them for their service.

Sincerely,

Jen Schultz
