Dear Jack,

Tuesday was election day in Mississippi.  Congratulations to all those that were elected – and commiserations to those that weren’t!  (In this day and age, it takes character to run for public office, so perhaps we should appreciate those that do.)

Tuesday’s results give the Republicans a super duper majority - and the political capital to deliver major change should they decide to use it.  Let’s hope that they do!

All elected statewide officials are Republican.  The State Senate has a 36 / 52 Republican majority.  The House, a 76 / 122 Republican majority.  A coherent and compelling conservative policy platform would be unstoppable, and could put Mississippi on a path to prosperity.

On everything from education freedom to economic growth, our state could become a leader, not a laggard.  The Mississippi Center for Public Policy looks forward to working with all of our elected officials to help make that happen!

MCPP has good relations with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.  Over the past 12 months, almost one in three of our state lawmakers attended an MCPP sponsored event.

Here are some of the highlights from our recent policy events.
Have a wonderful weekend!
